Plumbing Emergency That Demands Immediate Attention

A pipe broke outside this customer’s home and he couldn’t find the shut-off. We walked him through the process and then came out to fix the problem.

You must locate not just the main water shut-off to your home, but all of the insides shut-offs to your sinks and toilets as well. That way, if you ever have an emergency, you can stop the flow of water before any extensive damage can take place. Call 3 Mountains Plumbing and we can come to your home to help make sure you know exactly where all of your shutoffs are located.

A burst pipe, of course, is one of the biggest plumbing emergencies. If you ever experience one, here’s what you need to do before calling a professional:

  1. Find your main water shut-off and turn it off.
  2. Turn on your cold water taps to relieve pressure and help your pipes drain. Do not, however, turn on the hot water taps.
  3. Make sure you immediately turn off any electrical devices that may be in the area of the broken pipe to reduce the chance of electrocution.

Time is of the essence if you ever have a broken pipe. Take the above steps and call 3 Mountains Plumbing as soon as you can if this ever happens to you.
